As you all know Sister Oswald is saying farewell to Scotland and Hello to America. Yes, she is going home! Which means I'm getting a new companion!
I've been anxious for moves call for the pass week. Knowing you are getting a new companion, but not knowing who or where you will be can be pretty nerve wracking.
All week I've been taking pictures of members, getting addresses etc..... Sunday night we get all call from the Mission home. President Brown
"Sister Garlock you have a new assignment" (big shocker)
he continues "You will be in East Kilbride(WHAT?)
and training a new missionary" (WHAAAAAAAT? A new missionary?).
Yes, I'm going to be a TRAINER!!! People have been predicting this course of action for months. I've always blown it off, but now i can't!!!! Whew! I'll meet her on wednesday and we'll start her missionary adventure in Scotland!
I hope I don't screw her up! haha
Hope everyone is doing well

4 of July 2012
I realise this is a week late, but I dinne have a choice. The 4 of July was GREAT! very different, but great.
Sister Green invited us as well as other members of the ward over for a chicken, tattie veggie dinner and apple pie for dessert. As I said, it was different. I'm use to having a BBQ outside, eating watermelon until i'm stuffed and enjoying the sunshine.
Sister Green sang "Yankee Doodle" and We recieved a run down of the history behind the 4 of July! The night was exciting and it was great to spend it with family in Scotland!
Brother Hay brought his American Flag! We stood in front like Proud Americans! haha
Scotland is a wee wet for fireworks so as missionaries do we adjusted. This is our firework
This is us watching the firework show! Sister Oswald and I took turns to make sounds effects to make the firework show more exciting! hhahahahaha...guess you had to be there to REALLY enjoy it! ;) haha
Hope your summer is going well for ye. Here is a scottish saying for ye. "Never cast ye clout til may is oot" interpretation : Never cast your coat til may is out, basically don't get rid of your winter coat until may is over! Have a great week

I love being a missionary
This week we took our district picture because with interviews coming up we didn't know when we would get another chance. I love the awkward posing and faces from the Elders. We had the privledge of having the zone leaders with us! We thought it would be christlike to include them in our pictures!
SISTER OSWALD MOMENT:
Sister Oswald LOVES Caramel Cadbury eggs. We bought one a couple of weeks ago and i've been hiding it from her. Waiting for the right moment (time of need) to give it to her. One morning after companionship study was THE TIME! her face says it all:
This is my "Don't even think about it face"
This is Sister Oswald's reaction
This is how much I LOVE my companion!
Have a great time watching the fireworks on wednesday! I'll be celebrating it Scottish style. I'll let you know how it goes next week!
Randomness of the Week
Where all the FUN happens.
P-DAY
Yes it is glorious to spend time with someone who can laugh at the same things with you.
Tuesday With the Thomsons
Brother Thomson agreed to show us how to make mince and tatties along with lasagna.
I will say this, Brother Thomson is a GRRRRRRREAT teacher. The meal was delicious and its a cinch to make. The final product only looks complicated!
Zone Conference
This thursday was our LAST Zone Conference with President and Sister Griffiths. It was bitter sweet esp for Sister Oswald having it being her last zone conference EVER. It was fun to have three sets of sisters (never happens). We had fun getting to know each other and catching up!
I think these pictures descibe Sister Oswald and myself pretty well.
Me with President and Sister Griffiths. I was able to hug President.....it wasn't as weird as I thought it would be! haha
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. We already had our two weeks of summer sunshine in Scotland! Soak up the rays for me!
