She's Home!!!

Hello all - a word from Z, Lisa's friend and the lucky gal who got to manage this blog while Lisa was gone.

LISA'S HOME!!!

Lisa, Me, and my princess.
I'm so ridiculously excited, because I love Lisa. And I'm glad I don't get to just read her stories, but see her in person and be a part of her new adventures. Here's looking to many more Lisa stories.

And Lisa, I think I speak for us all when I say thanks. Thanks for your service, your love of God, and including us in the spiritual journey of your mission.

We love you!

Oh, and Lisa's homecoming talk will be on the 10th - that's this coming Sunday! Details are on her FB.

LAST WEEK IN THE MISSION FIELD

This week was AMAZING!

First, I mentioned last week I was in a trio:

Sister Nicoll and Sister Millward. My pride and joy all week!
We went out to Mongolian BBQ (stir fry place) for Sister Nicoll's birthday
Us at the YSA Valentines dance. We were each other's valentines! haha We decided it was a must to get a picture next to the balloons.

This is Dorrie Weldon. Let me tell you a wee bit about her. Dorrie LOVES Elvis as i'm sure you didn't guess with the first picture, she loves to laugh and will make a joke out of anything. She will wind you up, ALWAYS! She has a glass eye for readying and she is a great member missionary. We had dinner, karoke and a good hearty laugh with her on Valentines Day!

The Sisters, Gabrielle (baptized last July) and Sean (baptized in September 2012). They are both amazing people and hilarious to be around. Gabrielle LOVES Joseph Smith! She talks about him all the time!

I realized I haven't talked about the people I work with on a weekly basis. I thought I would tell you about some of them and the rest will have to wait until I see you in person!

Hope you have a great week!

One of my lasts

The cutest couple, The Hicks. They are from Springville, Utah. It was destiny for us to serve with each other. Usually senior couples stay in one area their entire mission. The Hicks started in Glasgow where I met them. They then were transferred to Dublin one week before I came to Dublin! It's been great to serve with them most of my mission!

The Finglas Ward missionaries! Yep we are pretty awkward when taking pictures. We never are ready for pictures to be taken as you can see. It's pretty unorganized, but it works for us!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER NICOLL!!!!!!

It's been lovely to have the ward take initiative of knowing her birthday. I didn't have to do any planning. I was as surprised as Sister Nicoll when the birthday candles came out!

Sister Nicoll is 22yr old. She is super old, she is already showing signs of old age. She walks slow, and takes longs showers! I still love her! :)

left to right: Sister Nicoll, Mable (investigator), Sister Garlock (me), Emily Jude(recent convert)

Mable is so great and hilarious! We found her through a less active and her heart has been preparing for a while. She accepts and believes everything we teach her and everything she hears in church. She loves reading the Book of Mormon and finds joy in doing so! Mable is from Zimbabwe  Africa and has lived in Ireland for 10 years. Her baptism date is scheduled for the 9th of March, but might possibly be moved up to the 23 February! Sister Nicoll and are so excited!

Last news of update. We are a trio now! We found out Sunday morning that we will be in a trio until I leave home on the 21 February to the mission home. Her name is Sister Milward and you will hear more about her next week!

ok Last of last. This is my second to last e-mail until i'll be home. If anyone is planning on sending letters save your post money. I'll probably see you before I read your letter! If you have already sent it than I can't wait to get it after I see you! haha

Have a great week!

Greystone Hike

As promised here are the pictures I know you have all been waiting for. Last week we went on a gorgeous hike. Sean Hughes (a recent convert) loves the outdoors and took us on this hike. The Elders decided to have a great time on their p-day and come with us.

Our first stop was the beach. The rain started coming down and we are all thinking "We've only been walking for 10 minutes. This is going to be a long wet hike"

Wet was correct. There were puddles EVERYWHERE! If only we, as missionaries, got the memo to bring our 100% waterproof boots with us.

Everyone that went!

Scenery pictures

Me having fun on a wall in Ireland. It reminded me of the great wall of china!

Sister Nicoll Cut her hand on the fence! haha You had to be there to appreciate and understand just how funny it was.

Who puts their arm out sideways? Goodness I couldn't help but laugh at myself posing the way I did. It looks like someone was photoshopped OUT of the picture! haha

The sites at the end of our hike. As I mentioned previous. We went on a gorgeous hike!

Hope you all had a great week! I hope you enjoy the beauty of Ireland. I know I am

FOUR WEEKS!

I can't believe the time is arriving. I've been waiting for this moment; not to go home but to know that I've COMPLETED a full time mission. One of the hardest, most rewarding time of my life. As my sister told me a mission is life shaping-TRUE STATEMENT!

This past week was exchanges. I was with Sister Francis in Dublin again and we were successful.

Time this week is limited. Sister Nicoll and I are going for a hike with the Elders in our ward as well as a Recent Convert. We have been planning this hike for weeks and today is the day it works for everyone. My blog will be better next week.

Hope you all stay safe and well.

MY AREA

My area is amazing! One of the great things I love about Dublin is the fact there is always something to see, always somewhere new to go. My area is huge. We have to take trains and hour long buses to visit some of our members. The first set of pictures is our Preparation day with Gabrielle Wynne (Win).

We found a store called "Candy Lab" It has American sweets, soda and cereal in there. Gabrielle saw the Wonka bars and we just had to take a picture. No Golden ticket.

These are some of the buildings that we passed. Aren't they beautiful!?! Seriously, i'm so blessed to be around such beautiful and creative architecture.

Sister Nicoll and I make a Balbriggan day. Balbriggan is one of the towns we have to take a 30 minute train to visit some members. Once a week we try to have a Balbriggan day which really is our faith in finding day because most of the day we try by people.

This past saturday was our Balbriggan day and what a success we had. We visited a less-active who lives next to the sea shore, which is where the pictures have been taken. Sister Nicoll and I were blown away at the sight. The pictures does a terrible job of depicting the beauty of Ireland, but we tried our best.

Also we were able to contact a less-active and discovered that he wants to come to church and his non-member wife wants to be baptized. We honeslty walked in said hello and within the first couple minutes brought up baptism and she said she wants to support her husband. I believe her words went something like this "If my husband wants to go back to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints than I want to be baptized." I couldn't believe it. We taught her the Restoration and she came to church the next day and loved it!

It was a great way to end our week.

I know you all wish you could be with me, but I'm sure you are having fun as well ;)
